Some things that can help you are to eliminate cows milk dairy. Even for a period of time this can help to bring tremendous balance and healing to your body.

Seek to eat healthy fats, complex carbs (sweet potatoes, plantains, berries, carrots)

Because hormonal BC stresses your liver, eating foods to nourish and restore your liver is a good place to start. Some examples are beets, artichokes, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, onions, kale, broccoli, Brussel sprouts, garlic, grapefruit, turmeric, leafy greens, protein, (when eating protein seek the highest quality i.e. grass fed and finished beef, pasture raised chicken, wild caught fish) green tea, and dandelion root tea.

A note on high quality protein… beef should be organic and grass fed and finished, salmon should be wild, etc

Cutting out alcohol can be a huge help. Try even for just a month and see how you feel. As hormonal birth control destroys your gut microbiome, this is a helpful step towards restoration.

Lots of hydration. Filtered water, water with lemon, coconut water if you’re lucky enough to have that readily available.

Cut out sugar and artificial sweeteners in all forms. Honey and maple syrup in small doses can be ok. Sugar causes inflammation and isn’t supportive for working to balance your body and hormones.

Remember to eat fiber: dark leafy greens, nuts, sweet potatoes, berries

Reduce gluten and grains as they cause inflammation and inhibit healing in the body

Get probiotics. This is vital as the hormonal BC has destroyed your gut bacteria, kimchi, sauerkraut, coconut yogurt, quality probiotics can all be super helpful in this step of the journey.

Eating as organic as possible, even going further and growing some of your own food…
